Dr. Kay Low

Senior Aesthetic Physician, VIDASKIN Medical Aesthetic Clinic, Singapore

MA, MB BChir (University of Cambridge), BA

Dr Kay Low is a Singapore-based aesthetic physician with over seven years of clinical experience across the United Kingdom and Singapore. She has a particular clinical interest in women’s skin, facial ageing and skin longevity, with an approach grounded in scientific evidence, careful patient assessment and individualised treatment planning.

Her strong academic and medical background shapes the way she practises aesthetic medicine. She believes aesthetic treatments should be approached with the same scientific rigour as other areas of medicine, with careful consideration of the evidence, safety and suitability of each treatment.

Medical Qualifications and Postgraduate Training

Dr Kay graduated in Medicine from the University of Cambridge, where she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB BChir), Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Master of Arts (MA), and was a recipient of the Iris Rushton Prize for Academic Excellence.

She is a fully registered medical practitioner in both Singapore and the United Kingdom, with clinical experience across both healthcare systems and a broad foundation across medical and surgical specialties.

Dr Kay has completed postgraduate specialty training in Family Medicine and is currently working towards obtaining her Master of Medicine in Family Medicine accreditation. This broad-based medical training provides a strong clinical foundation for her work in aesthetic medicine, including the assessment of dermatological concerns, women’s health and the wider medical factors that can influence skin and ageing.

Research and Evidence-based Aesthetic Medicine

Dr Kay has a strong academic and research background and has received multiple research awards. She represented Singapore at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh, and subsequently at the Research Science Institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she received the Best Presentation Award. Her later work included research evaluating the efficacy of active ingredients in commonly used skincare products, which received a British dermatology research prize.

Aesthetic medicine is a major focus of Dr Kay’s continuing professional development. She undertakes ongoing advanced training in aesthetic medicine and is currently working towards Board Certification with the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM).

She closely follows emerging scientific evidence, technologies and treatment techniques in the field. This allows her to critically evaluate new developments and incorporate advances that she believes offer meaningful, evidence-based benefits for her patients.

Clinical Interests in women's skin and facial ageing

Dr Kay has a particular interest in how women’s skin, collagen and facial structure change through different stages of life, from early adulthood through pregnancy and the postpartum period to perimenopause, menopause and beyond.

Her particular clinical interests include:

Her treatment approach spans non-surgical facial lifting and tightening, collagen-stimulating treatments, lasers and energy-based treatments for pigmentation, redness and skin texture, skin boosters, biostimulators and evidence-based skincare.

Dr Kay develops individualised treatment plans according to the patient’s skin quality, facial structure, stage of ageing and wider clinical context.

A Medical Approach to Skin Longevity and healthy ageing

Dr Kay’s background in Family Medicine informs her broader approach to skin longevity and healthy ageing.

She recognises that changes in the skin, hair, face and body do not always occur in isolation. Hormonal change, metabolic health, nutrition, inflammation, sleep, stress and other aspects of physical and psychological wellbeing can influence skin health and the way patients experience ageing.

Where appropriate, Dr Kay considers whether changes in skin quality, pigmentation, acne, hair or ageing may also warrant consideration of underlying medical, hormonal, nutritional or lifestyle factors.

Her aim is to combine evidence-based aesthetic medicine with her broader medical training to help patients maintain healthy, resilient skin and age well over the long term.

Dr Kay's Treatment Philosophy

Dr Kay believes aesthetic medicine should make a positive difference to how her patients look and feel, while remaining grounded in good medicine and long-term skin health.

Her clinical philosophy is centred on:

Her goal is to help women maintain healthy, resilient skin and age well through every stage of life.
