Radiesse® Hand Rejuvenation

Radiesse® is the first and only FDA-approved CaHA treatment that initiates long-term improvement.

As the only dermal filler indicated for use in the hands, Radiesse® can restore volume to the hands, making them appear youthful and attractive. For people whose hands have become skinny in appearance with visibly apparent bones, tendons and veins, it can produce collagen to plump and smoothen the skin on the hands.

After treatment, your body will absorb the CaHa microspheres contained in the hand rejuvenation fillers and increase collagen production for months. You will continue to see more and more benefits over time.

How Does Radiesse® Work?

RADIESSE® is a semi-solid, cohesive injectable filler that is made from calcium hydroxylapatite, a substance that occurs naturally in the body and is the primary mineral constituent of bone and teeth. The semi-solid nature of this filler is created by suspending the calcium hydroxylapatite in a gel carrier. About two or three months after the procedure, the gel carrier starts to be absorbed by the body. The calcium beads of the filler remain and the body then builds collagen to fill in the spaces where the gel carrier had previously existed. The calcium is also bio-degradable. As it gradually breaks down, the newly produced collagen remains.

What Are The Indications For Radiesse® Injections?

RADIESSE® is indicated for subdermal injection for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, and for restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss in the cheek area and lower face. This product can help those with facial lipoatrophy due to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or for hand rejuvenation.

The 1st & Only FDA-Approved Filler For Hands

RADIESSE® is the first and only dermal filler that is FDA-approved to address the loss of volume in the hands. Over time, the loss of volume in the hands can make the skin look wrinkled. This often exposes unsightly tendons and veins. Since the hands are one of the most visible parts of the body, the appearance of the hands is an important indicator of ageing. RADIESSE® for Hands provides immediate volume for smooth and natural-looking results that last up to one year.

What Makes Radiesse Different From Other HA Fillers?

Unlike HA fillers which seek to plump up the skin and contour the face temporarily, Radiesse offers a longer-lasting treatment that has a triple-effect outcome with long-term collagen stimulation:

It has excellent rheological properties and has high elasticity and viscosity, making it one of the best fillers to manage as it tends to remain at the injection site and guarantees excellent modelling qualities.

Radiesse stimulates your body’s own collagen production through CaHA-induced biostimulation. After injection, the CaHA microspheres form a “scaffold” that provides mechanical stimuli triggering fibroblasts to produce collagen.

Because of its ability to induce collagen growth, Radiesse not only fills deficient areas to smoothen out the face and remove wrinkles and lines, it also improves the skin quality by encouraging your body to stimulate more collagen.

What Areas Can Be Injected With Radiesse® For Skin Rejuvenation?

RADIESSE® can be used to treat thin and ageing skin on a variety of areas including the following:

  • Neck and décolletage
  • Arms
  • Abdomen
  • Knees
  • Buttocks
  • Thighs
  • Chin wrinkles
  • Marionette lines
  • Pre-jowl folds
  • Smile lines

Excess skin will not disappear but will be less visible and tighter due to the stimulation of collagen and elastin. By treating these areas, the local aged appearance can be improved by volume replacement and CaHA-generated collagen stimulation.

Who Is Suitable For Radiessse®

Ideal candidates for RADIESSE® treatments are adults between the ages of 35 and 60 who have developed folds and wrinkles around their mouth and nose. Candidates who want the skin on their hands plumped are also ideal. It’s sometimes indicated for people who have experienced fat loss in their facial area due to HIV infection. You should not use RADIESSE® if you have an allergy to any component of the product, if you have a history of severe allergies, if you have a bleeding disorder, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
