How Does Radiesse® Work?

RADIESSE® is a semi-solid, cohesive injectable filler that is made from calcium hydroxylapatite, a substance that occurs naturally in the body and is the primary mineral constituent of bone and teeth. The semi-solid nature of this filler is created by suspending the calcium hydroxylapatite in a gel carrier. About two or three months after the procedure, the gel carrier starts to be absorbed by the body. The calcium beads of the filler remain and the body then builds collagen to fill in the spaces where the gel carrier had previously existed. The calcium is also bio-degradable. As it gradually breaks down, the newly produced collagen remains.

What Are The Indications For Radiesse® Injections?

RADIESSE® is indicated for subdermal injection for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, and for restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss in the cheek area and lower face.
