Candela® Nordlys FRAX Skin Resurfacing

Tackle Texture

As we age, our skin loses collagen due to factors such as environmental stressors, UV exposure, lifestyle or genetics. Over time, collagen production slows down, leading to textural changes such as enlarged pores, and loss of skin firmness and elasticity. This can also worsen the appearance of depressed acne scars. Pigmentary conditions such as melasma and age spots may occur concurrently, contributing to the aging process in the skin.

The Candela Nordlys FRAX laser resurfaces the skin to stimulate collagen production and reveal smoother, bouncier skin beneath! The Candela Nordlys FRAX is part of the I2PL system which also tackles common issues associated with ageing such as pigmentation, diffused redness, and uneven skin tone.

Non-Ablative Resurfacing

Non-ablative resurfacing involves the use of fractional lasers that deliver heat into the skin through microthermal treatment zones. These microscopic columns of heat trigger the skin’s healing response while leaving surrounding skin cells intact.

The treatment removes old skin cells from the outermost layer of the skin and delivers heat deep into the dermis, promoting skin tightening and collagen remodeling, revealing smoother and bouncier skin underneath.

This non-invasive procedure is ideal for addressing textural issues, acne scars and facial wrinkles and can be performed in a doctor’s office in under an hour. Recovery time is minimal compared to ablative non-fractional skin resurfacing due to the preservation of a larger portion of the skin’s surface.

Ellipse IPL™

Ellipse IPL is a light therapy treatment that utilizes scattered pulses of light to target various skin concerns without harming the skin’s surface. It is a gentle and effective treatment for unwanted blotches, hair removal, wrinkles, and pigmented and vascular lesions.

Nordlys’ Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology employs narrowband technology to enhance treatment efficiency and precision. The use of a narrower wavelength allows for effective treatment of photodamaged skin with lower fluence levels. IPL targets specific areas of the skin to address pigmented and vascular lesions and provide permanent hair removal.

The Ellipse IPL can treat some of the following concerns:

Improve the appearance of red blemishes, post inflammatory pigmentation.

Aging skin

Addresses dark spots, freckles, age spots, uneven pigmentation, and diffuse redness.

Unwanted hair

Removing excess hair from various body areas such as the upper lip, chin, legs, bikini area, underarms, back, and shoulders.

Skin Rejuvenation with Candela® Nordlys FRAX

The Frax Pro laser rejuvenates the skin by delivering controlled bursts of energy through small treatment zones. The technology in the Frax Pro system allows for precise control of the laser light energy’s width and depth, tailored to individual treatment needs. This stimulates collagen production and gradually resurfaces the skin. The laser is gently rolled across the skin during brief treatments, leaving the surface intact and resulting in minimal downtime for healing and recovery.

Nordlys’ Frax 1550 handpiece is specifically designed for non-ablative fractional skin resurfacing. It effectively addresses skin texture irregularities such as acne scars, enlarged pores, wrinkles and fine lines. The skin rejuvenation treatment is suitable for all skin types.

Frequently Asked Questions

The safety of Candela Nordlys IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment have been established through clinical trials conducted by leading doctors. The results of these tests are published in respected medical journals.
To make the most of your treatment, it is important to avoid tanning (sun, sunbed, fake tan) before and during the treatment period. Tanned skin absorbs more light, which can increase the risk of adverse effects such as burns or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Generally, no post-treatment care is necessary, but individuals with sensitive skin may benefit from applying soothing aloe vera gel. Additionally, it is recommended to use SPF 50+ sunscreen daily.
On average, 3 to 6 treatments at 4-week intervals are recommended for optimal results. Top-up treatments may be required in the future to maintain these results. To maximise collagen stimulation with skin rejuvenation, 6 treatments at 4-week intervals are recommended.
The sensation experienced during treatment varies from patient to patient. The feeling depends on the amount of melanin present in the skin. Patients typically describe the sensation as a mild heat sensation, similar to a mild sunburn after treatment.
The best results are typically seen in patients with skin types 1-3, while skin type 4 can be treated with caution. It is important to avoid sun exposure 30-60 days before treatment, as sun exposure increases the risk of discomfort or burns due to excessive light absorption in the epidermis. Patients with a suntan should wait until the tan fades to make the most of the treatment.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, dermal fillers are not recommended. Always speak to your practitioner about when is a safe time to have them.
